Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages: what we have here is a midlife crisis.
I’m a dad of three in my late 30s, living the corporate cube life with no end in sight. I’m here to give you my unfiltered sports takes that absolutely no one asked for.
This could very well be my first and last post, since procrastination is one of my more consistent talents. The goal is one post a day about some random sports topic. But who fucking knows? Maybe I’ll babble about the goddamn midterms since it’s Election Day. For the record, I fucking hate both sides. I grew up in a political family and absolutely loathe 99% of politicians.
If anyone actually sees this, thank you. Today’s random musing is about the Chicago Bears.
Holy shit. Are the Bears the best team in the NFL right now?
Watching that game last night reminded me of the 2017 Eagles with Carson Wentz. I’m an Eagles fan, for the record, so naturally I’ve found a way to make a post about the Bears about the Eagles.
I’m genuinely jealous of Bears fans right now. I remember how special that 2017 season felt, which was 1000% more satisfying than the most recent Super Bowl season. When you’ve spent years rooting for a team that finds creative ways continuously kick you in the balls, there’s nothing like realizing you might finally have that team. The one that could actually end the championship drought.
The Bears look like they have the perfect combination of a coach and a young quarterback starting to figure it out. Adding Jeffrey Simmons is like pouring gasoline on an already raging fire.
With this offense you really only need a game wrecker or two on defense to get a few stops. Chicago looks capable of putting up 30-plus against anyone.
I’m looking at Bears +950 to win the Super Bowl right now. One post in, and I’m already making predictions that could age like absolute shit. Welcome to the blog.
